Text Engineering from farm to table lesson

TLF ID A002718

In this lesson students are invited to become food and fibre engineers to research how wheat, the largest agricultural crop in Australia, gets from the farm to the table. Students take an in-depth look at the wheat industry in Australia exploring how wheat is grown, harvested, processed, utilised, and exported. Students will explore the different machinery and technologies used in processing wheat. They will then work in small groups to design and build models of key agricultural machineries. The resource includes links to downloadable lesson plan, websites and videos, as well as an assessment rubric. The lesson plan also features suggestions for engaging girls in agricultural engineering.
